What is the difference between granite and quartz? So you started your kitchen or bathroom remodel and now you have to choose a...
Quartz has become a popular surface option in recent years because it requires little to no maintenance and is more resistant to absorbing bacteria. It is a man-made product and, therefore, does not require routine sealing. Quartz is very consistent in color, because it is man-made, unlike its granite counterpart. Quartz material comes in 2CM or 3CM thickness, with 2CM being the most common. Slabs of quartz are usually a little smaller than slabs of granite. Quartz countertops are really just another way to say engineered stone, which simply means the countertops are man made. The higher the quartz (rock material) that is in the engineered stone the stronger it will be. We sell Quartz by Della Terra, LG Viatera USA, Sequel, as well as other brands. Browse some of our Quartz colors online - or visit our showroom to view all available color options. We do prefer that you see the actual slabs in person, you will be amazed at the difference from a sample or picture. We also offer 6 different edging options.

A skilled designer will meet you at your house to measure the area where quartz is needed. Detailed measurements will be taken. You will be asked to choose a quartz from our website for the initial bid; however you may change this at any time before the final order is placed.
Calculations will be done to figure out the total amount of square footage needed for install. Also, we must check the dimensions of the quartz slab in the color you choose to determine how many slabs will be needed for your project.
Our showroom features samples of the quartz slabs and edging options, as well as seams and sink cutouts. You can arrange samples of cabinets, quartz and tile together to pick your palette. This is a great time to pick a tile backsplash as well.
After you find the quartz of your dreams at a price that fits your budget, we will schedule installation. A quartz template must be scheduled and fabrication will take about 2 weeks, followed by installation. Demo can typically be done on the day of installation.
You hear a lot of buzz about quartz countertops in your kitchen, but a lot of people do not know what it is. When you hear the phrase "quartz countertops" it is a generic term that refers to an engineered stone countertops. As you know, engineered means it is man made. Quartz is a clear rock that is found a lot in mountains, you can even see this rock in a lot of granite countertops. This quartz rock is ground up into a fine powder and is mixed with a resin and other polymers in a giant blender. That mixture is put into a slab and pressed with large amount of pressure to cause it to harden. Most engineered stone tops have more than 90% of quartz rock in them. The higher the percentage of quartz, the stronger the countertop will be. Quartz countertops are engineered to not require sealing or other maintenance. Quartz pricing is usually based by the amount of quartz rock that is in it as well as what country it is made in. Also, it is usually more expensive to manufacture the white colors due to the fact that it cannot have any cross contamination during the mixing process.
